Dr Andri Christodoulou along with Mart Doms from Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Belgium presented part of the work done for the EU-funded H2020 COSMOS project at the recent ECER 2024 conference in Nicosia, Cyprus. The research talk titled ‘How socioscientific inquiry-based learning (SSIBL) in communities of practice fosters students’ science attitudes and action competence for sustainability’ was presented in Network 30. Environmental and Sustainability Education Research. They focused on sharing student outcomes from the first round of implementation and discussing how they have developed their second round of implementation activities to consider issues such as supporting teacher and schools in embedding the COSMOS approach and how communities of practice can be leveraged as contexts for action competence in educational settings.
